For the past two weeks he's gone off into one of the corners in the tank and just lays down on its side. I figured it was sick but when a fish goes near it he'll get up and swim around normally for a good while. And when I put fish in the tank it goes crazy. Its odd because it looks like it may be sick but other than lying down or just sitting at the bottom its active. Its a 50 gallon tank and not overcrowded so I ruled out stress.

if you have just two one could be a female that is holding fry in her mouth. my female always hide when she is holding. is the bottom of her mouth larger then normal
I'm not quite sure, it looks the same size as the other lab but I did notice a couple of red marks next to her mouth on both sides that I hadn't noticed before. But it doesn't look bigger. It shakes a lot too.
my is just either lazy or need another female....hey chox is your eat? my doesn't eat alot .i just try to wait for another tank to set up then get more fish and i'll throw my yellow lab in there ( with a group) and rob22 is your tank up and running yet?
