What's with these super bright car headlights?

Are you talking about the aftermarket Xenon lights or just the d-bags that drive around with their high beams on?

wouldn't cutting in line or shoving someone out of the way do?
Sure, yeah. That would be a decent comparison. Either way, it's silly. And since there's really no argument here, just a differing of opinion, I'm done too.

once while i was driving home from a weekend training i had a guy behind be turn on his brights before i was far enough ahead to not get blinded. after about 20 mins of this i turn on the lights i had installed on my trailer hitch. i don't think i had them pointed up but they guy got the hint and slowed down.

I put limo tint in my trucks and cars, you could have the sun bolted to your hood and I wouldn't know you were behind me. As for oncomming, I live in Canada, small town and i`d have to guess 45-55% of vehicles have HID`s (including mine) and Ive never been blinded (aside from high beams) even in my lowest vehicles.

Yup! Those and rearward facing floods on roll bars work wonders! :D

Just note the time frame of that article. Many states following the recomendation from the NHTSA to enforce the need for projectors for the HIDs and thus greatly cutting down on the glare from HIDs in reflector housings. The projector housing itself limits the bulb from beaming off to the side as much and only allows the light to go so high in direct angle. This GREATLY reduces issues for other drivers but still allows the driver with the HIDs to gain the benefit of the brighter bulb.

As already said the brighter you make your highlights and the easier you can see... the less others can see.

Also it's bull that normal headlights are as blinding as these 'crap' headlights. I've had plenty of normal headlights behind me with no problems at all. As soon as one of these idiots get behind me, I have to adjust all my mirrors just to fill their egos.
