What's with these super bright car headlights?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you can do as you wish. fact is it's not gonna stop. so you either deal with it or dont drive. if driving scares you so much that any little thing becomes "dangerous" or is a huge annoyance, i suggest taking public transportation. i dont like seeing people talk on the phone but you know what, they still do it. even though they know its illegal and they could face a fine if caught.

and like i said, staring at any oncoming light will temporarily blind you. if you cant deal with not looking directly at the lights for a few seconds, you really shouldnt be driving
True, true. I'm putting up with more and more all the time. It's not like I take it personally. But how far are we letting this go? I mean, would you be alright if people ran through the mall hog-tying other people the day after Thanksgiving to make sure they get the best deals on sales? At what point do everyone's rights become back-seat to everyone's primal whims? I understand that you need your car to help you feel like a big, strong person. But I can't understand why it's okay to step on other people to make your dramatic light-show happen.

Ok I'm done addressing you. You're one of those people that love to generalize and draw ridiculous conclusions and stereotypes. There's no point in continuing to discuss things with you. This is just as stupid as the people that say guys with lifted trucks are making up for things they're lacking, the older guy with a sports car is going through a mid-life crisis, and the list goes on. Just plain ignorant and weak ending to an already weak argument.

dim setting? car lights dont have a dim setting lol. its either on, off, or high beam, if it's one of those bulbs with the low and high beam integrated into one...

I dont mean dim setting like they dim their headlights, its where you put the yellow lights on and rear lights on with out having the head lights on all cars should be able to do this, any car I have been in does it. The name left my head but I guess some call them "daytime running lights"...

I mean if the bright lights dont blind your eyes then awesome for you.... but I personally don't like being blinded.... I drive, I accept that its how it is, I just think that it would be smart to find a way to give people the cool lights without making them so blinding. Just imo....

ah gotcha! i think you mean just the parking lights on? or some cars when you turn off the main headlight a dimmer driving light kicks in like you mentioned

I dont know if thats what they are called? Yeah its something like that. I know on older imports you can do it manually, the first setting is running lights, the second is head lights then you pull the lever for brights.

? Whoa! Didn't mean to hit a nerve. Sorry.

Blinding people with headlights is to hog-tying as satisfying one's own selfish desires for bright headlights is to getting the head-start in line at the store. It's just hurtful and selfish, as well as unnecessary. Like loud motorcycles. Who are we trying to impress? Nobody likes that stuff. Overloading the senses of innocent bystanders by casual civilian activity shouldn't be condoned in any society, otherwise you end up being blinded and deafened from all sides.
