Is there an example of someone killing 12 with a baseball bat in the past 50 years?

Not that I know of. But it isn't impossible. What IS impossible is for that gun to jump out of its safe, go to a crowded area and shoot a bunch of innocent people without an irresponsible lunatic behind it.

cause thats the eternal argument the sane can never win gun people think they are being "protected by guns ",and lots are scared by the government your extended clip 9 aimt gonna win any battles with uncle sam .

You don't need a gun to kill people. Any nutjob hellbent on mass murder will do so with whatever is at his disposal. Just as easily as he walked in to that theater with guns and rifles, he could have done so with a bomb strapped to his chest. What would your silly gun laws have done in that case?

Would the world be a better place if guns were never invented? Maybe? But they're here. And they're here to stay. Nothing you or I or any politician can do or say will change that. EVER. I say we ban idiots. Everybody should undergo a mental health test once a year. Those that fail get locked up or exterminated. That works, right? Get rid of the crazies, no more deaths.

But it does seem awfully easy for nut jobs to LEGALLY get access to guns. And for the same nut jobs to get the permits to LEGALLY walk around in places like movie theaters and bars with them (the 20+ pages of examples that I linked to).
