what's wrong with my catfish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i wasnt about to flush him, and i couldnt bury him, so i took him to the river...seemed to be the better solution :(

okay... always hear thats the wrong thing to do... cause of the ecosystem... but i doubt he'll live there long enough to effect it...

sorry for the loss.

ok, granted the fish probably died within a few mins/hours of you putting him in the river, mostly due to the fact of different water params, but other than that, you should never put any fish from an aquarium into the wild. If they have desiese such as your's did it can easily be transfered to other animals in the wild if they eat him(which they probably did). You can cause a plague of sorts in the freshwater fish in what river you put him in. Personally I am from north carolina origionally, and know for a fact that it is illegal to release any fish into the wild that you did not catch from the river itself. You can't even dump your bait into the river let alone a species from another part of the world that might have desiese that wild populations have no resistance to. Please be more careful, if not for the wild fish, then for your own sake. It is highly illegal! Next time put your fish out of it's misery if you can't watch it suffer. It's much better to kill one fish than to potentially infect thousands or millions. JMO sorry if it comes off harse, I just would like to still see some fish in the wild when my grand kids are around in 30 years or so.

Im pretty sure he actually died on the way there....but I didnt know all that stuff. If i would have, I wouldnt done it that way...but it does make sence. Thanks for the info.
