Chlorine maybe? YOu said you used establish bio media right? was it from a tank that has been up and running with fish in it for a while?

Get a test kit and post up #s.... Should be able to tell something by the Nitrate reading.

Bio media was taken out from my Goliath tank and Armatus tank

PH was 8.2, amonia was at o.oo, nitrate was slight orange (forgot the exact #)

Dont know WTF was wrong with my tank:cry:

If I start my tank up today how many feeders should I throw in or should I do fishless?

The blue tint can't be from the bioballs unless those bioballs are some very cheaply made imitation bioballs or something.

You said you never had an ammonia jump or anything. Your tank was not cycled at all which is probably why all the fishes were stressed and dying/died. You need to add an ammonia source to your water to start the cycling process. BB will start to colonized and break down the ammonia and convert it to nitrite. At this point you should see a nitrite spike. BB will then colonize and convert the nitrite to nitrate. Then at this point you should see a increase in nitrate. When all readings are zero for ammonia and nitrite and you have a high number for nitrate you are cycled. Just do some water changes to get the nitrate down and you are done.

Another way to check if you are cycled it to dose you tank with ammonia up to 4-5ppm and if ammonia reading, nitrite readings are zero after 24 hours you are cycled.

Thanks, ganna do this today
Is there something specific to add (amonia product)?

Did you use any water from the Goliath tank? I always try to bring over at least 50% of the water from the tank I'm transfering media from.

How long were the bioballs in the original tank, maybe they weren't in long enough to get a good colonization?

This is why I asked about Nitrate reading.......... Can be an indicator of cycle status. You said you used a new pad to scrub this thing..... Can you post up some pics of what you used? I went through a terrible ordeal a few years ago...... Stupid X was up late one nite and decided to clean my brackish tank....Next morning only 10% of the fish were still alive. Further investigation revealed that while the scrubbie she used WAS NEW it was an ANTIbacterial sponge.........Wiped out almost everything.

:WHOA: It was the yellow sponges from the markets. Just a regular square one. I would post a pic but I tossed it after I used it:D. When I washed my tank, it was outside and it was the first drip of water the tank had seen in 3-4 months (re-modeling the house...) so I rinsed it out from dust and cob-webs...
The bio balls were in the goliath/armatus tank for about 2 months or so??
also I could not use enough of the water from the goliath tank cause he is in a temp tank (50glns:cry:) so it would of fell a lil short:D
