my house!!
Probably won't come happen for a couple of decades ,but here's mine! :) 7 x 3 x 3 - polypterus and asian arowana.
8 x 3 x 3 - pair of Channa marulius/ bullseye snakehead or a pair of channa maruloides/emperor snakehead.
4 x 2 x 2 - pair of channa aurantimaculata /golden cobra snakehead (the odds of me getting a 120 are better though lol). List out your crazy ideas !

Since you say dream tank (which imo means something most likely un-attainable) then it would be the one I’ve mentioned it in another thread before...

Imagine something in the 20K+ gallon range fulled decorated to have both open space along with varying hiding spots to protect smaller sized fish...

Then i’d house things such as rays, eels, small and large schooling fish, some type of puffer and basically a whole assortment of other interesting rare fish...

Dream tank you say... OK

This one has been bouncing around in my melon for a couple years.

Dimensions
20 feet wide
30 feet long
10 feet tall
44947 gallons
Center overflow that look like a tree,
Massive amount of plants, rockwork, branches, leaves etc

Stocking
Red Terror (Mesoheros Festae) 1m 6f
Red Hook Silver Dollars x50
Ornate Pim x20
Lima Shovelnose x20
Pink tailed Chalceus x20

Numbers can change this is my rough stocking guess

So basically an ecosystem? It would interesting to see how different species interact with each other.

Pretty much an eco-system, yeah...

For me I would rather have a few tanks in the 500-1k gallon range than 1 super large tank. I would stock them with an assortment of catfish + a Snow Silver or Snow Black Arowan,. although having a super large tank to keep something like a Piraiba would be super cool as well.

My dream tank is very much attainable. I've mentioned before on the forum that one day I will keep my favorite species, the European Perch. The only question is, when?

I could opt for a huge outdoor fibreglass tank, but that defeats the whole object of having fish that you can watch from the comfort of your armchair. And the biggest tank I can get in the house is the tropical tank that I currently have in place, my 360g fibreglass set up.

The problem I have is that all my fish in my 360g are quite long lived and could be with me for some time yet. I'm not rehoming my fish, this is something my conscience tussled with some time ago. It's just simply not happening.

So, I will probably have to wait for them all to die off from old age to realise my perch dream....but....as my current stock die off i'm sure that I will fill their void with "other" fish along the way, thus pushing my perch dream further into the far distance!

This damn hobby, lol.
