What's your Future-dreamtank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This one's hard to say. . . A few years ago, 55 gallons seemed big. A year ago a 180 was my dream. Right now, I'd absolutely love to have a 300, but I'm already looking upwards of 500. My wife tells me she'd love for me to have a whole wall tank- floor to ceiling, wall to wall. I don't exactly know that that is reasonable, but. . . It would be nice, eh?

Honestly as a reasonable desire, I'd love to have something all glass and 2 or 3 feet tall, 8 feet long, and 3-4 feet wide. A rimless tank, or a euro-braced tank, preferably- none of that ugly black plastic. As a realistic desire, I think I could be content with something like that. I'd also love to do an indoor pond someday somewhere along the lines of 8x4x4.

What are you waiting for?!

My original dream prbly wont become true. But i would love to have a whole wall a tank like across the middle with storage on top and bottom.

If I won the lottery i'd have a continuous tank that ran around the entire room at head height built into the wall and create a mini Amazon river in my house!

Realistically it would be to upgrade my 100 gal to a 6 x2 x2 or there abouts because my house is tiny.

Once I return home and buy a new house I am cleared by the wife to build a 10' x 5' x 7' fish tank addition to the house. This is on the condition that while Im adding on to the house I build her a walk-in closet.

2500 gallon "Grotto Half Round Aquarium" from www.aquaculturetanks.com

Here's the sketch up of how it will fit in my house

This is a 2500 gallon half round fiberglass pond with a viewing window, over all size is about 12' long X 6' wide at the widest point and 6' deep Viewing window of 9.5' X 5.5' for about $15K :headbang2

I'm going to build a room around the tank and seal it in for moisture control and to keep down the noise level. Above the tank will be hard wood floors with a hatch in the back to get up there from the back of the aquarium. I might put in some book shelves and a chair up there or something to fill the space.
