Whats your most memorable Fish Drama?

I was setting up my sump which has a 3800lph submersible pump in it with 4.5m head. Whilst I was mucking around with some of the plumbing the vertical return hose popped off the pump and I suddenly had a 3800lph fountain in my living room!! The 'fountain' nearly hit the ceiling! :clap
 
When i found my walking catfish all dried up on the floor under his tank stand i thought he wad dead. Got a pair of tongs and a plastic bag to clean it up and when i grabed it, it moved!..... quickly dumped him back into his tank and it survived.
 
I had built a 1,500 gal.tank.I had 4 2x8's on the top. Than I ran 1/4 wire all over the top of the tank.There was a 7in.gap between the 2x8's. I put 1/4 in.plexiglass over the gaps.I thought this was a jump proof tank. On a friday night I took some clients for some drinks.I left my pager in the car.It was in december here in socal.
when I got in the car my pager was going off.I had a hotel room across the street and I called home. My wife was crying and she told me what had happend. She had feed the fishes and my 5ft. arapaima jump from the bottom and went through the gap.It push up the wood that I had fasten down with deck screws. It broke the wire and the plexiglass. But the big problem was it landed on the 11/2 in PVC pipe and broke the outake pipe. The pump was a 2,000gph. It pumped almost all the water out.the tank was built outside and pushed up against the living room wall. I had two windows cut out on a wall to see the tank.I than built a green house over the tank. Now comes the real nightmare.Since I wasn't home my wife got the neighbor to help her. He fix the PVC pipe,than they got a garden hose and filled the tank to the top. Like I said it was in December and the temp of the water was 43 degrees. When I got home all the fish were belley up! My neighbor ask what happened and I told him the truth. Lost a good friend and good neighbor.

i would have killed him
 
my brother got drunk one night. not wanting to drink alone he decided to get the fish drunk(with a fifth of vodka) next morning after learning what happened and several water changes latter i had lost a golden asian arrow a mated pair of tiger oscars and my only rtc i didn't speak to him for a month makes me even angrier now that asian aaros are illegal. my condolences to everyone else pet losses are truely horrendous :(

P.S. I had my 5ft. arapaima mounted.As soon as I figure out how to post pictures everbody will see it. It's awesome!
 
ive had several , when my pacu (only 5" that time ) decided to eat my beautiful 18" learius pictus cat alive -woke up the next day to a mangled white catfish w/ huge chunks tanken outa his side :swear: . Another was when i hooked up a new pump to my pond filter I had on a tank inside and all was fine ,later that evening im out side and see water spraying all over the windows-the tubing popped off and was flying around like a fire hose was a horrendous mess that damgaged the drywall (fixed the pump w/ hose clamps and pvc glue tho).Also had a fluval 404 two times drain all the water out of my 125g and onto the floor- after a brief power outage ( my fluvals are now in the at the county dump)
