What's your PITA list?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People who...well, actually...just people! :)

Lol, I would never in a million years thought to put that in this thread. But it's 100% true. That's how people are, whether we like it or not!

Managing African Cichlids have been nearly a decade long PITA.
Newbies complaining about aggressive Tiger Barbs, Gouramis & Rainbow fish are a PITA.
Any discussions related to Bettas & Neon Tetras are a PITA.
I'm a little grumpy this morning. Lol.

Buying the last pair available and having one kill the other after cohabitating "peacefully"
Wanting big tanks because they are sooo fun to watch.
Wanting lots of little tanks that would fit in the larger tanks foot print for breeding projects
Not enough time for the ideas in my head
Work getting in the way of fish keeping but needing to work so I can sustain fish keeping

?

Insufficient time to putter - that's the big issue these days, particularly as "island life" gets so monstrously DIY'y once you veer from normal. I love my work, but (to the young'uns) I'd strongly recommend AGAINST owning your own business as weekends evaporate before Friday lunchtime. *****-moan ;)

Grow-out times that are way tooooo looooooong, taking up tank-space & delaying shuffling the mid-size & fun stuff, incluing finding/catching/buying more. Could build more tanks, sure... see above.

Detailed (excessively?) vacation feeder-helper training, and still coming home to damaged & dead stuff...
... usually the more rare/irreplaceable and/or costly.

Being sold 'males' then waking up to clouds of babies.

"Game of Thrones" tanks with devils, butti, chanco and black nasties in a 300. The owner brags about how he/she made this work (when no one in history has). Followed by a stupid video on YouTube that's usually eight years old with no updates.

"Healthy" fish because the water is clear. So is Vodka, but I ain't filling my tank with it.
