Whats your rarest catch?

I didnt know how to fish at the time but I almost grabbed it with my hand an African cichlid in new jersey. I touched it several times but they are hard to grab

My rarest by hook was recent and snakeheads and by net which isn't truly fishing lol not to mention caught in one of those communities which are built around lakes thus full of exotics due to owners dumping them over decades was what I think are Dempseys or Dempsey hybrids.

I am not sure but someone in MFK who knows cichlids thinks they are dempseys by Miami standards they are rare however I have now seen jumbos in that area .

Was the water cold or getting cold?

I ask as have recently seen Africans (Zebra and yellow labs) but impossible to even get near never mind touch.
