I can see if someone went out of their way to get an illegal fish, but what if you just came across one like if someone was giving it to you because they were moving or someone at the pet store asked if you wanted one and they had one.

seems to me gr8 or one of the mods posted a list of fish that are illegal in CA.. but it seemed to be an impossible list.. most of the fish on the list are for sale in LFS's all over..

Well, except for the obvious ones like piranha and snakeheads..
