all the really good fish are all noxious in aus!! so yeh i dont care! i will own an illegal species if i ca get hold of em!

even at the risk of losing your house and hurting your family?

just a discussion question not ment to be accusatory.:D

It's worth noting that while i bet they do monitor this forum, there isn't very much that they can do about it if you are careful of how you word the posts with the pics.

For instance, if you don't say that it is YOUR fish you are taking photos of, they have no evidence.

Sounds goofy, but it's true, thats how forums dedicated to growing illegal plants and fungi keep themselves safe.

I guess the reason certain fish are made illegal is due to irrisponsable fish keepers releasing them in to a wild unatural enviroment where they then outcompete the native species for food.
One of the reasons/factors. Some other factors are stupid rumors/hearsays and misinterpretations done by the media with one good example being one of the "piranha" species who "bit the metal knife" and another of the "flying piranhas" of Piranha 2: The Spawning.:screwy:

This is a subject that avoids being answered definitively but in my opinion what it comes down to is that humans are part of nature so whatever we do to disturb the environment is natural. :screwy: Species die off, the environment changes and the world goes on as it always did. In fact, trying to put laws in place to protect endangered species or prevent invasive organisms is probably disturbing natural evolution. But then I suppose its the humans who make these laws so these laws and their results are also a natural part of nature. :D
Did that undiscovered insect (hypothetical) that became extinct in 1969 due to human influences hold the cure for cancer? Maybe. But what about the three horned freshwater panther shark that never evolved into existance because humans weren't allowed to manipulate the environment. It perhaps could have produced an easily replicatable enzyme that would disolve the planet busting asteroid made of some near indestructable, unknown element headed for the earth in 100 milion years.

I cant personally say anything about it since Im an illegal Piranha keeper in Virginia. I dont live very far from West Virginia and they are legal there so its not really hard to drive the 2 hours and pick them up. I think its stupid that a couple of glorified tetras are illegal because somebody was dumb enough to release them into the wild. If that were the case almost every aquarium fish would be illegal in FL.

Not a risk I like to take but as long as the fish are not being released I view it as a choice each of us must make on their own.
