HAHAHA I have 1 RTC 1 TSN 1 Peacock bass and 1 channel cat. Peacock bass had a buddy once. I swear I could not believe the RTC ate him I looked and looked thought he jumped out of the tank. The other bass received a new name about that time "scarface" he's scarred for life but still alive now and sure he will stay that way at this point. Funny the bass and the channel spend time glued to the tsn because he tolorates them schooling with him and sharing that side of the 125gal tank. silly fish every predetar for himself.

My first private purchase 30+yrs ago.... you know, a friend of a friend of a friend had a pair of discus for sale. The drawback was you had to take the whole tank setup. I thought about it then went over to check the fish out. Nice big pair of blue turqs with 22 young about an inch and a half. All looked to be excellent value so I gave him $400 as a 50% deposit while organising to return next week to pick the lot up. When I arrived with a couple of buddies to help out, all the fish were already in buckets (no airstones) and the tank was empty..... Excellent start I thought as it was a bit of a drive home. We packed the lot and left for home.
Obviously (In Hindsight) the fish were very stressed. No young survived the trip. The adults went straight into a quarantine tank and sunk like a brick even after a good acclimation went dark black and died 12 hours later.
I rang the guy up and asked wtf did he do when emptying the tank or what ever......
He replied - "My wife convinced me it would be of great help and assistance if we removed the fish & water the night before"

Khuli Loaches. I bought four of them as my first fish (along with some platys and a few others). Brought them home and released them into the tank. After a few days, they disappeared. They buried themselves in the gravel under the rocks and wood to hide. Three of them ended up crushing themselves, while one never showed up again. Stil love the way they look though lol.
I guess I don't have the last laugh. my new 125 gal is still going through NEW TANK SYNDROME. When I moved everyone the TSN ripped his pectoral out in the net. 1 week later for 7 days the RTC did not want to eat just constantly play with the new supersized air stone and tube, then breaks his whisker. 1 week after that The Channel Cat and Peacock bass have ick. This weekend everybody was hungry fed them then did a 50 gal water change, salted and put in Biro Spira. Go home last night to find no Peacock Bass and the RTC VERY FAT. Now I am scared that the Channel Cat will see the same fate. I don't know if I should put a divider in our start the 55 gal tank back up again to put the Channel in, which would be another shock for him.KittyKatKeeper;1172633;1172633 said:

2006 - I bought 5 Pirayas online from a retailer in the East Coast.
The Pirayas were suppose to be 2-3 inches. Only one of them was close to three inches.
The other 4 was less then 2 inches, and one had a bad eye.
When I emailed the seller telling him I got a fish with bad eye
and the other 4 was very malnourished.
He went on explaining to me how he had purchased the fish from
another importer who kept the fish for 7 days without feeding
and he then kept it for another 7 days before shipping to me
( for water quality purpose during shipping).
and he went on about the fish with a bad eye,
that I just wanted a free fish from him.
I went on explaining to him that a free fish would cost me more in shipping then cost.
He then said read all my feedbacks, only one customer experience bad service and he said that I was probably that person.
I posted his reply on my signature.
The administrators from that particular sight took
my writing privileges away because the retailer was a sponsor.
Sorry for those who sale online but I will never buy live fish online.
The fish with the bad eye never recover, it was blind!

Cowfish(freshwater Gobie family)bought a 10 incher,thing never moved,not even at feeding time,i had to hand feed him!!!Most boring fish i ever owned!!Donated it to the Science Musieum,that sucker is still there!!!
