Just the other day my .9" convict female (Fry from parents in same tank) decided to have a go at my 6.5" bala shark in the same tank. Well, the con just snuk up on the still bala shark, took a quick bite of his anal fin and the bala shark swam 1 million miles an hour into the heater, than swam straight into the glass and is now scared of the con fry.

Worst thing I bought was the small 5 gallon tank I started with, what a wast of money I did my fist upgrade in a matter of months. The only good thing that came out of it was it started my addiction.

A mean, gluttonous Balloon Molly named 'Oreo' who ate all the food and tried to eat his tankmates:shakehead

There used to be pet stores called "Noah's Ark" around me. They would do 1 cent sales, meaning buy 1 get one for a penny. When I first started in the hobby, probally 20 years ago now. I shoved 4 of these, 6 of those, a few of them, and 10 neons in a 10 gal. tank. All would be dead in a couple of days and I would have my mom or grandma go and buy me new fish. It was a bad cycle that would keep the store manager happy though. Good news now is we have the internet, forums etc. that will hopefully teach newbies how not to start a tank.
