When a 240g becomes 'small'

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea i started off buyin a 55, and than went to a 75, and than kept that them for about 3 months than saw a cheap 100. Kept them the 100 and 75 for about 6 months, lookin around saw a cheap 150 and now in my dinning room we have the 150 ,100,55(gfs) and 20 (Baby tank) and the spare bedroom i have a 55 and just planning the day i get a 240 or 300s

It'll never end........I started with a few smaller tanks...55 and 2x 44 corners (along with about 5 various smaller tanks), then got my 135 thinking I was going big. Hmm, now in the morning I'm driving 3 hours to pick up a 220. The problem is, I ALREADY know I'm wanting bigger........I'll be putting in a pond within the next couple years (after an addition to the house), and plan on going BIG. I don't think I'll really be content with aquariums, though, until I hit at least 400. I can say that now, because if it ever happens, it'll be long down the road. :(

When I got my 75g it looked pretty big to me because the biggest I had previous to that was my old 55g but it even looks small to me now. I also have 2 x 20g, 50g Hex, and a 10g and they look tiny. I have been trying to find a 6ft tank for a while now but nothing good ever pops up for sale local to me. There has been a 120g (4x2x2) on my local Craigslist for a while now for a pretty good price that I've though of getting a few times but I know the day I get it a 6ft tank would pop up so I'm just being patient and waiting for that good deal. I'm hoping a 200g+ 6ft tank comes up soon, hopefully a 6x3x2 (In my dreams) but in the end I'd even settle for anything 125g and up as long as it's 6ft. I'd love a 240g+ 8ft tank but the wall I want to put it on in my kitchen isn't long enough and it's the only space I have left. If I put another tank in my living room there would be no room left, lol.

i told this girl i worked with i just bought a 220, she was like really? a friend of mine just sold a big tank, i was like what size she spread her hands about 4 feet apart and i about died, lol. she was like. its a pretty big tank. i told her the one i bought she could swim in  and by the way. pics???

I plan on getting a cargo crate and cutting out a side a slapping a thick ass glass on it..

and the old lady thinks i'm kidding... ..

pepple tpip when i say ive got a 300 w/only 4 fish then they see it/them and are shocked,my response always being "i need a bigger tank"

Yep, hanging around on this site has made me realize that my 180 gallon tank would be considered a "grow out" tank for some people! Heck, the volume of water in my big tank would equal a water change!

I want to get an 8'x3'x2' tank. Then I can keep some of the really nice fish, like an arrowana and also get another ray.
