Keep the water super clean!

I am. I have to watch ammonia carefully as there is no biological filtration left. Fortunately, its about 220 gallons of water, 3 fish, and I'm not feeding.

Well, I lost him last night. He was doing so well until the last 48 hours, and then he just suddenly started going downhill. Kidney failure maybe? He shows no sign of infection. I measured what was left of him and he was 23.5" plus whatever tail was missing. He probably was probably right around the 25" mark. :( Ugh, the trash came this morning. I really don't want to have him sitting in the trash can for a week in this heat. I guess he'll have to go in my freezer.

Sorry for your loss...What a great effort to give him every chance to get better tho! Hats off to ya.

Thanks guys. I know there was absolutely nothing more that I could have done for him. Poor guy. At least I was able to give him a really good last 8 months of life (minus this last month of hell.) I'm guessing the poor guy had had a pretty rough life before me seeing how jacked up he was. I never thought that my TSN would try anything on something of his size. I feel bad as he could have happily been hanging out in my 385 pond. I'm going to do some moving around as she's going to end up taking out my pbass next I'm sure followed by my gold knife fish.

Sorry to hear he passed. :(

Oh damn:( I was really hoping this guy would pull through.

Thanks guys. yeah. I knew it was a long shot given the damage he had received, but he was showing such signs of improvement, I was really hoping he'd pull through. Poor guy was such an underdog when I rescued him, that he had a real soft spot in my heart. No more ID's for me I guess. The TSN just has her eye keen on them for some reason.
