when to start fishing in indiana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well i hit the retention pond yesterday afternoon and saw quite a few bass roaming but no takers. saw a few of the channels checking me out too but i wasnt rigged for them. lost my tackle box last year off a boat so im going to have to go get some new lures and such soon. usually plastic worms are HOT there. Maybe going down to sweetwater this weekend.

if any of you guys dont mind the drive the walleye are doing good in Maumee OH on the Maumee i might head up their during the week next week since im laid off and have nothing better to do a couple guys that we no have already gone up their a few times these past two weeks and caught their limits every day they were up their.

what is this place called? I have never walleye fished but I hear they are good eating! I may do that sometime soon as well if anyone has any walleye catching tips.

I'm going to take the boat out for the first time this year tomorrow. All of the lights were replaced with LED tonight, and I added some LED docking lights.

Can't wait!!

HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR BASS AND PIKES:

RATTLING JIGS-PERFUR BOO-YA

CLEAR WATER-MATCH THE GRASS COLOR
STAINED WATER-BLACK/BLUE

HUSK JURK BAITS/RAT-L-TRAPS/LIPLESS CRANK BAITS

The lipless crank bait in the picture i have been murdering the bass and pickeral with water temps in the 48 range.

P.S.-I want to see some pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to match the water. It's always murky here....never clear. I usually use watermelon plastics (Slug gos) since the water has a unique tint. If I go 2 hours north the water is crystal clear because of the zebra mussels.

If I catch anything I'll get pix. If I don't, I'll still get pix lol

the best walleye bait is a jig head tipped with one of these minnow, night crawler, leech, or a soft plastic curl tail grub.
