When will teugelsi be back in season?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We just got 3 in my LFS yesterday I had the honor of receiving them in and finding a tank for them. (I currently am helping them set up some breeding programs and every other weekend i am the head of the freshwater dept.) Theyre about 2" long right now and im so tempted to just throw a 30 long tank together and throw in some safestart and snatch these guys up. They are truly great specimens for being CB the coloration on one of them is stunning. I will snap some pics when i go in saturday. But i doubt they will sell before i have the tank set up as most people in my town are pretty casual fish keepers other than a few saltwater guys.

I am having a hard time justifying it though because i still have to buy the 75 and the 180. lol but theyre so small which makes me want to buy them even more. I prefer to grow out my fish. if i cant get them as small as possible unless its something I really want i wont buy it.

I agree, go for it. Heck, just get a cheap 10 gallon to hold them for a few weeks while you get ahold of a 75. If you work at the LFS then you should see if they mind if you take some of their cycled media to start the tank off cycled. I definitely think you should grab them now instead of waiting. You never know when someone might walk through the door and go for the “cool dinosaur looking” fish. Then they will probably be doomed for life in a 10-20 gallon tank. Lol

Heck, if you want to come my way to pick up that 75 this weekend, provided they still have it, I can give you some cycled media.

I'd have to have them measure the stand first because the last one i got the guy didnt measure the height correctly and i ended up scratching the crap out of my dash of my brand new SUV and still had to throw out the stand because it was extremely unlevel. but anyway i will try to make it up that way if i can. Hell, i may even be able to talk them down on the price lol

Well, guys I think I’m done buying craigslist tanks at least the “awesome deals” that is. I picked up 90 gallon last week. The stand was so warped I told them just to keep it and burn it or something.

When I got the actual tank home there was so much poop in it. I removed a 5 gallon bucket worth of gravel and the poop is seeping over the gravel in the in the bucket after spraying most of it off. The only way I can figure is if he overstocked it and didn’t do a water change for years. I scraped all kinds of nicotine stains off of it which only came off with a razor and water.

Honestly the only reason I bought it was because the guy said he has an electric bill to pay and that was the only way he could pay it and I was already there.
