Got a feeling the guy at the shop may have lied... I said I didn't want a two foot plus monster... I fear this may well be a two foot monster... looks like I'll be getting my big sh breeding tank earlier than planned... before the salt tank I want... anyone agree this is possibly a sailfin common plec?

Grrr, trusted them before with no issues and this guy is usually reasonably trustworthy and knowledgeable... looks like I'll be getting an upgrade... how fast so these guys grow?

You should always do as much research as you can for this exact reason, but I have had a few impulse buys so I can't blame you :) they get to about 5-6 inch reasonable fast then slow down a lot after that IME but they have a huge bio load and are real poop machines lol I think you will have water quality issues before you run out of space so test at least once a week

Thanks, I'll start doing tests before my Sunday waterchange then and possibly up the number and amount (currently doing twice weekly 40%)... I'm useless for impulse buys, my sh was impulse - I had been planning on south American puffers (which I had done load of research on)... if I struggle to cope, guess I could always make a ghetto pond if I can't afford a tank
