when will my mangrove monitor eat.im pretty sure the temp is right.i keep the basking lamp on for 12 hours and the nocturnal bulb on at night.i had him less then a week, but im real paranoid.i dont want to lose this lizard.

Maybe he is still settling in to his new home. As long as the temp is right, as it seems to be he should be fine.
Give it a little more time. :)

Think isn't good enough...Give a specific temp.

Here is some information to give next time:

What is the size of enclosure? Dimension is your best friend in this case, not gallons.
What kind of decors does it have?
How is the enclosure set up?
How much traffic around the enclosure? This includes animals, humans and other moving objects.

Last recorded time eaten?
Last recorded time you found feces?
What is the last thing it ate?

What species is it? If you could pinpoint the subspecies if it has one, it would be helpful.
How long has it been under your care for?
How big is it?
How old is it?
What is its diet?

What is its basking temperature at its lowest and highest?
Ambident temperature during the day?
Hot end temperature during the day?
Cool end temperature during the day?
Hot end temperature at night?
Cool end temperature at night?

What is the humidity level?
What size of the water bowl?

it is a mangrove monitor.ivs had it for about 4 days now.

it is in a 55 gallon.the preivious owner told me his staple was crickets and pinkies.the basking temp is always between 115 o 120 degrees.i changed the setup subtrate and cleaned up all urine and poop the second day i got him.i would say alot of traffic with my walking by the cage.should i put backrounds on thew side of the cage so he wont be nervous.

You say the basking temp is just right.......Where do you have the thermometer located in the tank? I would be taking temps from up high and low on both sides to make sure everything is ok for him............

Why don't you build a bigger cage for him. Or why don't you see if you can sell him to someone who will provide him with all the proper care he will need. You already are going to have your hands full with you nile.
