I could really use some advice right now. dont know what to do.

I have a 75g fish tank that I am setting up, and it will have a 6-7 inch RTC in it. that is settled. but, what to go with him? I would like something that swims in the mid to top of the tank. I know im going to need a bigger tank for the catfish, and I am making plans for a plywood tank for him with my dad:nilly:. I have been keeping fish for all my life. I have had everything from guppies, to marbled gobys. I take lots of pride in my tanks, and would like to know what you would put in the tank with the catfish. I was looking at a black piranha, (peru). and I like the look of those, and I LOVE aggressive fish:popcorn:. I have never kept a piranha before, but would like to start. I have done a little research and have found smaller species like sanchezi piranhas. I have also looked into aro's, but I'm not very into them. I will consider anything realistic! thank you!

PS

I am also wondering about motoro rays.

Seeing as how you will need a bigger tank in the future anyway I would recommend getting some peacock bass to grow out. They would be a nice aggro fish that stays in the middle to top of the tank. Plus they eat like pigs just like the RTC

I like the sound of the pbass, but I also adopted a diseased veil tail oscar. I dont know if id want him in the tank with the RTC though. hes big enough, but hes not used to other fish at all. what kind of pbass would you reccommend?

The RTC could make a snack of the piranha also depending on size. Pbass would be nice. When do you plan on upgrading?

within the next year and a half definitely.

since you're not experienced in pbass already, i'd go with monos, occels or temensis. if something goes wrong you won't lose much $$. they are the cheaper of the pbass available. they wont' be shy at feeding time and can compete with the RTC. All pbass can i'd assume. I've had 6 different kinds only but don't see why they all wouldn't be that way.

i had a 15" rtc live with orinos, monos, dats, polys, gars all ranging from 5" to 12". it left everyone alone. but of course i always kept it fed.
