This was my ? when I first looked.......... I was up at 3am to take a look and first found 6 reg motoro pups. I was pretty bummed because I was expecting leo x motoro pups. I then left town for a day and returned tonight to find 4 more pups swimming around, 2 motoro and 2 hybrids. My female motoro gave birth to 9 pups. She was big but I never thought she was holding 9 pups!

Congrats!

Is there a motoro male in the tank?

This is very interesting and food for thought.
Question is are these all hybrids or two hybrids and the rest pure blood motoro?

If these are all hybrids how can it be that some show motoro pattern.
If these are hybrids and pure motoro, so the female did mate with two males. (I was told this in the past, there was offspring from a leo female, hybrids and pure leo in the same litter. The leo female was in a tank with a leo and a motoro male.)

very healthy pup !!...congrats!!!....
and yea, 2 of ur pups looks like hybrid and others looks exactly like motoro.....what kind of rays u hav in the tank???
rayman, are u sure such thing happen?? 2 daddy 1 mommy???

That is an awesome litter! Maybe rays are like cats? I am also curious to know what kind of rays you keep in the tank.

First of all....congratulations on another great litter. You have been kicking them out for years.

It may be that rays are like some sharks. It has been proven in some shark species that the same litter of pups can have multiple fathers. It could also be that certain patterns have a dominant or recessive trait and they show when you least expect it.

Very cool.

Congrats, We have also had this happen with our last set of leo/pearl hybrids the female gave birth to 8 hybrids and then 6 hrs later one pure leo pup. Yes both types of males were in there so either both males mated with her or just the pearl did and the one pup just does not show hybrid markings. All said they are great looking rays and should all be considered hybrid so not to confuse pure lines.
