Where are the Pearls?

I just read what I just said,and I was trying to say that the quotas that we have now is tha same kind of rays that we had before tha ban... And forget what I said about export pearl as motoros.. That's impossible.. te motoros came from the Amazon state, and those rays came from Para state so it's impossible to send as motoros .... After think a little and talked to my friends, I have to say that it's impossible cause ever rays have the local origin that came with the GTRAC, so it's impossible to send a Pearl as a motoro....

Thanks for clarifying, same is true with P14 they are both are an undescribed species and there is no quota that is direct from IBAMA scientist Patricia. Before the ban they were not even known by scientists in Brazil as they stated at the stingray symposium and said they never even seen them in person before.

I said in another threat that most of the companys didn't send any rays.. Most are waiting to start their operation in the beginning of next year... But now the wet season started, so Probably they are going to have a comercial flood in the midle of next year when the dry season begin... The reason that most countries haven't get any stingrays, is because Asia are buying most of it.... And now we have China as a important tropical fish consumer, thing that years ago before the ban we didn't have...

I hope they get some more information on them soon. It would be nice to know more about them, how common they are, etc.

Your right IBAMA did not quota pearl rays because there being CB for cheap and there is no demand anymore thats is EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID. Thanks for setting me in my place.

Quota and CB rays have nothing to do with each other.

I might buy some WC pearls. But not at the price level they are being sold for atm.

If they have nothing to do with each other why are you trying to make a point that WC pearls will not be exported cause of price of CB pearls? And not fact that there is no legal qouta for pearls?

My friend trade have more then 40 pearls waiting to export... Most companies are asking for the balck rays, in 10:2 the proportion to the pearl rays ...And technically the Pearl rays are illegal, but in practice they have been exported as legal....

The pearl prices have dropped in both europe and asia, they are VERY low.

You can get a CB pearl for UNDER 600 euro/850 dollars.

So why would anyone take a big risk and import WC pearls when you can get a CB pearl for the same price?

I cant make it more simple than that.

And as Michel says, there ARE/WILL be exported pearls! The problem is the CB prices.

The question was "why dont we see any WC pearl rays?".

And that is do to the fact that CB pearls are so cheap that no one will buy WC.

Do you even know what you are talking about anymore? I dont anyway.
