where can I buy cheaper feeder fish in LA?

Man... not this again... DO NOT FEED GOLDFISH. Horrible slow death......

Dude, please read the many many threads on "Why not to use GOLD FISH as feeders". Very unhealthy being that they have TONS of fat and high in thiaminase (think I spelled this wrong).

I had some bad experience with feeding gold fish, lost a couple of rare fish to ick, but there's some fish that only eat live feeders, and there's nothing you can do but feed them live feeders until you wean them off. Convict is not quite a good choice of feeders. Someone here had bad experience with feeding his prize fish with convict, ended up convict killed his prize fish.

I have 7 catfish and 3 gar,9 of them eat "LIVE" fish only
anyone can tell me where I can get cheaper feeder fish,thanks a lot.
I can get 10(small) for $1 but they will eat 40 a day

I don't know about gar, but catfish eats pretty much anything. Starve them a few days, just give them smelts or pellets until they start eating.

See... I knew there was something strange when you wrote your fish only eat LIVE FEEDERS...... Now you say your cats eat nightcrawlers? Which is it? Feeding live feeders in general is undesirable, if your cats eat nightcrawlers, feed nightcrawlers..... too expensive? You can buy nightcrwalers in BULK from several breeders online. CHEAPER and HEALTHIER to feed nightcrawlers than live feeders in the long run. Ushan, please do more research BEFORE purchasing fish. Fish keeping is not cheap and it is our reponsibilty as MFKers to house properly, maintain properly, and feed properly. As far as the eels getting to the night crawlers first... get some long tongs and "wave" the nightcrawler in front of the cat fish.

I should said my catfish only eat something can "MOVE"... if nightcrwalers motionless..catfish can't find them. I can get 5 big nightcrwalers for $1 in local store.

what about crickets they are very high in protein and i bet the gars will eat them and worms for the cats

if I starve them a few days....they will start to attack other fish,maybe I should separate them first.
