I just bought 2 bags of the color quartz black today (T Grade) near Chicago. It was only $18.75 per 50lbs. I would definately look for it near you, it is very affordable, and it is almost the exact consistency of a crushed coral I used in my 55 like 8 years ago for Africans.
whats the brand name of that sand??? hope i can find a good deal like thatn here,

I am using black sand I got off ebay from a store called aquariumsubstratesupply, but I don't think they are still selling it. I searched but couldn't find it.

This is the Estes ultra reef sand in black. I love this stuff. More so than the TM stuff. Its smaller grain and better looking IMO.

Nice where do I get it?

This is where I got mine from....because it had free shipping on 175 or more. Since I needed a lot of sand I got free shipping...with a handling fee per case. Still came out to about 1 buck a pound.

Take not...this stuff floats...you have to work with it a little to get it all in the tank and settled...but to me its worth it. Once its wet and in the tank it does not float all around and make a mess. Just when dry trying to add it to the tank. It will stick to air bubbles and float up. But after a few days and working with it its fine.

Thanks for the info guys.
