My aquarium is in the garage. My thought is that it's the safest place if there's ever leak. The garage is sloped so that anything would run out the overhead door. It is 180 gallon aquarium 6 ft by 2 by 2

Oh yeah my wife's aquarium is in the house in the living room. It's a 40 gallon breeder tank and it's got community fish in it. Kind of fish that would be food in my tank although I don't feed live fish anymore that's a different discussion but my fish are a lot friendlier for not feeding live fish. My wife's tank doesn't have a lid on it so it evaporates a fair amount of water but makes an awesome splashing sound you can hear throughout the house pretty much. We find that to be tranquil

4 tanks (10, 90, 90, 135 gallon) in a finished basement in a former bedroom - now a fish room; plus one tank in a hallway in the basement.

Used to have a tank in the living room upstairs but when we renovated and got new flooring, the wife said "no more up here."
