Hey all,

I'm setting up a 90G acrylic tank (48" long X 18" wide x 24" tall) . . . instead of gravel or sand for a substrate, I'm thinking about covering the tank's floor with a lot of driftwood, but otherwise keeping it bare. It wouldn't be planted to need much substrate, or I'd use small decorative pots for a few plants here and there.

I've looked at the neighborhood aquarium stores, and PetCo, but it's pretty expensive at $20 - $40+ per piece. It would end up being more than I paid for the tank (used). I'm thinking I'll need 8 - 10 medium-to-large pieces, maybe more.

Wondering about places to buy driftwood wholesale?

Not a bad idea, eBay can have some good deals . . . I've been burned by eBay before, though, and I'd feel safer going through a company directly. I wonder where Zoo Med imports their mopani wood pieces from . . . ?

I got a few pieces from thatpetplace.com. the more you buy the cheaper it gets. They were really good to me. Good luck, post some pics of the final set up as it sounds interesting.

craigslist is good if you don't mind being patient. also, search the classifieds on here. many times people are selling lots of dritwood for cheap

Well, after poking around, Amazon actually has mopani pieces at good discounts from list price, 40 - 60% off. It's a possibility. Decent price on 8oz packs of Novus 1, 2 & 3 acrylic polish, too, with free super saver shipping.

that fish place is ok its about 20 mins from my house 99% of the stuff they got is **** tho ...imo....found some cool pieces on ebay .....but most r to small....here on mfk i seen a guy sell drift wood ...some pieces r really cool and not to sure about price... but most the cost on here are on the cheaper side good luck dude
