Where's all the Big Festae?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here is 'Archie'. He's one of the questionable TFD WC/Not WC fish. He is just shy of 12" and still growing.

He has been the sole inhabitant of a 75 gallon tank for nearly a year now and is already too big for that tank. He destroys anything that is put in the tank (fish, plants, thermometers, occasionally my hand) and will pile all sand into a single pile. I really hate him at times. I am purchasing a 125 or larger for him if I decide not to make a delicious festae sandwich.

It doesn't matter if he's F0 or not...that's one Bad Mofo Festae! Don't make a Festae sandwich, get him the 135g tank (or larger) and get him a nice female and see if they'll pair. There's something about a large male and female Festae pair interacting together that's just spectacular. Thanks for posting him.

Sorry, I dont have a clue or even know where those pictures exactly came from. I have been snagging pictures off the web of cool fish since 1993 when I first got the internet...and a lot of forums/pages of hobbyists have come and gone. I figured if no one here claimed them or knew anything about them, they must be from a defunct site/forum or possibly from a hobbyist overseas.

Here is my large pair

That's a gorgeous pair, I love the red on the rear part of the male. Not quite big and bulky enough to qualify for this thread yet, but I'm glad you posted anyway. Excellent specimens.

wish i still have them...

:WHOA: Wow, just wow. That guy was a ]V[onster! He's incredible, I wish you still had him too. How big would you say they were? The male looks about 14"?? Maybe 15"?
