Which Aro is preferred in the US?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a big difference in what I want and what I can have. I would love, as previously stated, a blood red arowana.......... BUT..... its illegal here, therefore i'd stay with the silver since they can grow massive. However, right now i am leaning more and more into the jar since it seem to me that they are some untameable stallion that can be interesting to take care of.

i would say the leichartdi. just because not many people know it even exist and they are cool looking arowana. but a black would be pretty nice too.

BLACK aro......once you go black, you never go back...
with aro's anyways.:D If you got a REALLY large tank to house an aro for life, I'd say silvers. Heck here's my list in order....This is not overall just LEGAL in US

1- Black Aro
2- Lei Aro
3- Silver Aro
4- Jar Aro ( only cause you usually will end up with just a jar in the tank and colors are not too impressive till they mature quite a bit) really a great fish though!

I would prefer either an African Aro or of course an Asian...

looking to get a silver and black to stay together

i love my silver...the only downfall is Drop Eye. mine doesnt have it yet but am always concerned.

Try a red ping pong ball.....great toy and distration for your fish:D
Of course pristine water conditions, and maybe gravel or sand bottom:D

i do have gravel and clean water conditions. what causes it is really not proven. i personally think it is from head injuries.

True. but it doesnt hurt to try....My buddy had a silver that started to get droop eye....a red ping pong ball and some gravel and his fish hasnt gotten any worse......It is definately in the air though. Feeding GF or fatty foods in gen, inbreed, etc.
