hi i am wondering which cichlids will try to bite your finger through the glass, bump or ram their face on the glass as if they are trying to tell you to get away, bite your finger if you are cleaning, or attack and chase tubes, scrubbers, and vacuums around the tank, i am wondering which breeds do this because i think they are cool when they act this way, thanks! and i hear that purebred midas act this way, it is interesting seeing cichlids act this way so i think it is awesome

Although not a true CA/SA, my Flowerhorn attacks my magfloat like crazy when i clean the tank. This seems to be the only thing that sets him off. I reach in the tank all the time and he's never tried to bite me, but he hates that MagFloat.

My Hogaboomarum, Xiloaensis, Devil, Dovii, all did the flaring at the glass and attacking your finger, but dont anymore. I am sure that they are use to me. My Dovii and Devil just get out of my way when I am cleaning, while the other 2 only get aggressive when they have little ones in the tank. Other than that, they all stopped being overly aggressive.

I did get bit once by my large male JD while he was defending some wrigglers that i did not know were in the tank. Drew blood and everything, but he was in defensive mode, so i wasn't too upset.

Here is my amarillo gaurding some fry.
