which cichlids attack or intimidate their owners?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a breeding pair of jags, they would jump out the tank to try and bute me , lol i was scared to freakin open the hood to feed them , i sold my pair because i thought they were gunna break my tank lol

I am not afraid of any of my cichlids yet, but if I had to choose one it would be my Cuban Cichlid. This little 3 inch Cuban will fight anything that goes into his territory, even if a cichlid is 7 inches. So I can only imagine at 7 inches or above when I am trying to clean the tank then.

my jagxtexas hybrid is a lunatic.always rams the glass if i am too close.bites my long arm glove as i clean his tank

my 10" male umbee rams the glass so hard if i get my face too close you can hear it thump as he hits the acrylic. hes really fun to play with. its not cause of tank size either as hes in a 8'x30" tank. hes just very pissed off all the time

i always have liked the Umbee, does he have a nuchal hump? oh and btw i got my 55 gallon tank a month ago, it has a blood parrot (he is black and red, and i am guessing he is a male because he is always territorial), a male black convict (has no orange and has pointed fins), a male firemouth (very colorful), a senegal bichir, and a striped raphael catfish, i have 2 aquatech 30-60 filters in it and a heater. by the way, when i am an adult i will have lots of large cichlid tanks (i research cichlids everyday, on breeds, tank sizes, and compatibility) oh and i am 14 years old, the 55 gallon is my first fish tank dedicated to cichlids

convicts are angry little things.. they beat each other up over their fry.. and ANYTHING else in their way! (i know a few parents like that) lol but be careful my female jumped right out of the tank when i was cleaning the filter.. she was ok but i had to separate her from her babies..she was goin crazy mom on me
