...in a 143gallon tank?
I would really like one Oscar and one Jaguar.
On fishlore they said it wasn't a good idea, because of the aggressive nature of the Jag.

If not a jag, which other large cichlids would go well?

firemouths, salvinis, geophagus a lot of vieja species, what fish do you like? If we know what you like we can say if its suitable or not. Hope that helps!

Thanks.
I thought the Oscar was a bit aggressive, and could be housed with other aggressive cichs...

Is a Jaguar out of the question?

Oscars are peaceful. Most other cichlids push them around, hence the jaguar issue. I wouldn't risk a jag with my Oscar, but anything is possible. Just know you're rolling the dice. With lots of line-of-sight breaking decor you'd have a pretty good chance, especially if both are very young and raised together before maturity. Jags get a lot bigger, though, so you'll eventually be upgrading most likely. An 18" jag makes 143 gallons look like a fish bowl. :D

Look at geophagus and related species and when you're done drooling, pick one. I like altifrons a lot.

I really like redhead cichlids.
They are supposed to be mellow and about the same size as oscars.
Would an oscar and a redhead fully stock the tank?
