Good call, totally blanked on jewelAlso look at the often overlooked African Jewel cichlids. Stay on the smaller side like Nanolutae and HRPs. Same water peramaters as the Amatitlania.

Not my pic, from Google
Hemichromis guttalatum
Hemichromis lifalili
Could use African red eye tetras as dithers
Lol probably because the convict will end up a little big for a 29, it is doable but not ideal. Just research the suggestions and pick what you like. If you like the convict go for it. Like I said it’s not ideal tho but not a sin eitherOkay, I'm being suggested a lot of different fish lol.
Okay, since the convict is not ideal I would probably need to do some extra maintenance so I might as well pick a different suggestion.Lol probably because the convict will end up a little big for a 29, it is doable but not ideal. If it helps, the HRP will be most convict like, followed by the rainbows IMO. But all the suggestions are cool little cichlids for a 29Okay, I'm being suggested a lot of different fish lol.
I think columbian or red eye tetra would make awesome dithersOk, but I'm starting to think about the pearl cichlids and the african red eye tetras. Anything about those? Also, suggestion for a dither fish for HRPs?
Good call!! Post some pics when you make your choiceOkay, I think I will go with either the HRP or the jewel cichlid.
