Anything in this huge lagoon tank we have at work. Not sure of the gallons but its like 7 feet long and 4 feet front to back, so you have to lean over it and the fish are all our huge CA/SA cichlids, so they can move.
my angelfish!! i didn't do the research required before releasing it into my reef tank. only after putting in the angelfish in my reef tank did i find out that angelfish nips at corals!!! now it's too late to catch it coz it just retrieves back into the rocks when i get close to the tank.
Giant danios and garra pingis. They're just torpedoes on a mission! I've always had to resort to draining the tank and removing decor just to corner them.
Hey, wow. I just read this whole thread. I can't believe how many people tried using nets on catfish! Every catfish book I've ever read clearly warns against EVER using a net. Either use a bucket and chase them into it or grab them as gently as possible by hand. I've actually had far better reactions catching them by hand. They seem far calmer during the move. And nets are breezy. Thermal shock potential there...
I like the pillowcase idea except for detergent residue. A new pillowcase I would use after a vinegar soak.
Trying to net pokey fish? Think before you act. It goes a long way.
SOME FISH I HATE TO NET ...AND WHY:
CLIMBING PERCH:GETS STUCK IN THE NET,PRICKS YOU WHEN YOU TRY TO FREE IT
