I think you should make pellets 70% of their diet and 20% frozen food and 10% feeders this i my diet plan for my polys

That sounds like a great ratio.

frozen ghost shrimp! that's awesome, how much is it and how much do you get?

I have to check the seafood city to seeif they have it. I've seen the little white fish but not shrimp.

I found some at the Hawaiian Market off of Valley in Monterey Park/San Gabriel. A pack (don't remember the weight) was like $2.50 I picked up 5 packs and it lasted me about 2 months. I actually need to go get some more...LEAVE ME SOME!!!:grinno:

Don't remember the label too much. I think it was in Vietnamese and it was in a clear plastic bag in a styrofoam tray.

This is how I feed my bichirs and other monsters.

Pellets 2x a day 4x a week and frozen foods 1x a day 2x a week. Live food 1x every 2 weeks.. I also skip meal for 1-2 day after they eaten the frozen/live food. Give them time to digest. Plus you won't waste any pellets because they are sometimes ignored if they have eaten some frozen/live food from the other day.

one of my ornates only eats shrimp pellets about to starve her off of them here in a bit.
my smaller ornate in a seperate tank i got at 2.5" only ate and i highlly recommend this HBH SUPER SOFT krill sinking pellets. i swear i think they invented it just for baby birchirs. i bought 1- 3.3oz shaker and it lasted him till he was 6" with feeding him that and bloodworms. now he also loves market shrimp. i throw it in when the lights go out.

here is my feeding schedule
Pellets 1x a lot a day 4x a week
Frozen Food 1x a day feeding a few blood worms and shrimp 4x a week
Live Food 1x a day feding very few feeders 2x week

pellets (i think we've already established that)

mine love HBH soft (i feed this when they're small) and NLS Thera (3mm is a good size as it's fairly easy to find and big enough for smaller polys). The bigger ones get sinking carnivore/massivore, sinking gold (Hikari) and 6mm NLS Thera

well I do feed my Poly,s pellets may be once or twice a week.but I have been keeping Poly,s for 0ver 25 years and I have feed them blood worms, Krill ,beef heart. fish, ghost shrimp ,feeder I have raised with Vitamins added smelt ,clam mysis earth worms and sandeels . my fish grow nice never a problem with growth or even health issues.
