wolf fish are chumpsssssss.. never had an aimera tho.. If my brandtii was 4 feet he would eat dogs and cats and birds and legs and fingers.. lol hes 8 inches and hits the glass like train.. as for full grown i would have to give it to dorados... much quicker then wolves.. ive seen a small dorado and a small malabaricus go at it and the wolf got his **** handed to him...

wait til you meet an aimara. :D

I would beg to differ on this, it boils down to the individual fish of course but most wolves I have seen are not chumps. And your more territorial cichlids may seem to pester them a little but come the next morning you have a full-bellied wolf, and shredded bodies of tankmates. I wouldn't base my belief of the wolves on a skirmish between a small wolf and dorado, but def. would on larger specimens. Either way not saying your story is false, just stating my opinion. A wolf has the equipment to dispatch a dorado EASILY.....;)

i agree,
if the wolf is able to grab hold of the dorado. ;)

If you knew were you derailing the topic on purpose?

Anyway, I remember Armatus used to be portrayed as total beast until they're more availble in the hobby to know indeed they can be housed with other fish without butching them.

Maybe until the day when Aimara is common in the hobby then we'll know for sure if one must wear armor gloves to change water or commingle them with other fish.

hopefully theyll be more available to everyone in the near future.

hmmm i've never seen pic of an aimara with any tank mates or heard of them that lasted more then a day but you have a point theres not very few of them in the hobby so theres little pics and personal experience of them

They do have a serious rep like you said alot of storys about them like piranhas from the locals , but there are confirmed acounts of locals being attcked by aimara when swimming or wadeing in a large ones territory all requiring stitches

 thats one big boy and still not fully grown at 82cm (they get 4-5ft)

yeah i've seen those pics before MONSTER

aimera are very seriuosly equipped theres no doubt about that.. ive just seen dorados that are just as scary.. there movements make them seem a little more menacing.. but alot of the wolves i have seen would have rather just moved away from confrontation then fight.. but this topic is kinda pointless NO? i meen we can argue all day and there will be no winner.. individual fish can either be aggro or passive depends on the fish.. just because one may win once doenst meen the next time they meet it will happen again..

Can someone post some pics of a Dorado's teeth...seen plenty of wicked teeth of wolf fish but never seen any on a Dorado....would love to see it...;)

well considering groups of piranha wont even attack a single malabaricus in the wild, what an aimara can do kinda speaks for itself.
i dont see how you could put anything above an aimara for meanness, i mean....
1. just look at the things
2. wolf fish live to attack, thats why they arent very active fish, they conserve energy then unleash it on their prey/enemy.
and 3. most fish wouldnt even get through the armour of an aimara
