Which is the most aggressive SA/CA cichlid in your experience/opinion?

Theres nothing like a nasty red devil... oscars are bullys. Pike cichlids can be mean too.

I am surprised by how many people say Dovii - granted the monsters are aggressive, but from experience I'd have to say that often smaller (up to 12") Dovii are often ambush predators who seem to spend a lot of time hiding.

I strongly disagree. I've owned several Dovii and even my "shy" Dovii would wreak havoc on tank mates as soon as I left the room.

My current male is simply Pyscho, he's been a glass banger since he was 4".

I have managed to keep midas with pretty much anything, the only time they get aggressive is when they are breeding and want to protect there young. Give em plenty of room and some decent filtaration and they are no probs, although when breeding i make sure my female's are larger or the same size as my males so they are able to stick up for themselves. What about asian red tails? Has anyone kept these?

from my experience.
barred amphilophus citrinellus has been the most aggressive.

he's recently began to attack me in the tank.
attack his tank mates, and glass bang.
when i put my fish against the glass he loves to go intense mr. midasjeezy on me.
