I've had some aggresive fish, but the "flying dragon" Flowerhorn takes the cake. I had a Wolf fish in my tank (265G) for about three or four months... he was about 7". I added that Flowerhorn (7") and he started attcking all of the other cichlids, Freddy, Red Devil, Jack Dempsey, Jaguar and a few others, who were all between 5" - 8". Up until this point all the fish kept their distance from the wolf. Not anymore... The Flowerhorn, after beating up all the other fish attacked the wolf!!! I came home from Home Depot to find my $100 Flowerhorn all diced up on the second day I owned him!!! Most fish would have gave up, but that darn Flowerhorn kept trying to fight the wolf until I removed him. He would have fought to the death!!!

The Flowerhorn ended up in a 56g with a couple of Jewel Cichlids, who really were just too fast for him to catch. This fish COULD NOT be housed with any fish its own size.

A big Electric catfish or the payara

Man, as much as I love my dovii, he is really passive. Hopefully when I get him into his new, bigger home he gets a bit meaner. We'll see how it goes!

My old Amphilophus was the meanest thing I've ever kept. Cleaning his tank was near impossible. Sometimes it took two people to distract him or move him with a big plastic spoon. We would push him away and he would attack it. There were a lot of teeth marks in it!

Yeah just after I posted yesterday my damn Kamalau flowerhorn took taste test on my arm, while I was cleaning the tank. Argggg, see if I ever clean your tank again, buddy

So, he took the tiniest knick out of your arm and you're saying you'll never clean his tank again?

I hope it's one of those things that we say but don't actually mean! I know I've said it before but had my arm in cleaning the next day.

i would have to go with a pleco , there a bit dangerous to humans. watch out for your plecos lol they might eat your fingers . hands down the meanist fish ! my pleco killed my dovii and umbee

id hav to say midis or dovii but i also hav a pike that is a killer lol
flowerhorns are krazy aggressive tho a man maid hybrid
DEFF not a oscar!

All:

I think the Dovii is a mean fish; they can put up a fight. Other Cichlids are nasty during breading time. The Umbee is something else -- I will just keep my hands cross.

The worst I ever had were two Managuenses (aka, Jaguar Cichlid). Wow. I had two of these in one tank, and they fought constantly until one passed away (I was young and dumb back then, and didn't have the common sense to separate them in some way). After the death of one of them, the other went totally psycho. This fish would attack the glass of the aquarium trying to get to any person who walked passed the tank! Crazy. And they destroyed, utterly, any attempt I made to put anything in there that was not heavy rock! LOL...

Eventually, I gave him to someone with a huge tank that wanted him.

The most aggressive that I've kept was a red devil.
He would attack and destroy anything that was put into HIS tank.
He would charge the glass whenever someone got too close to the tank.
Doing gravel vacs got to ge really exciting as well because it wasn't a question of if you were going to get bitten or not it was how many times am I going to get bitten THIS TIME!
Very cool fish.
