Which is the most aggressive SA/CA cichlid in your experience/opinion?

Surprised to see that nobody mentioned Managuense in this thread...Unless there is a different name for these fish on this site?

Over years of keeping freshwater fish, to date the most agressive fish I have ever kept were Managuense, with Red Devils right there with them.

Well i a 130G with a red devil 7in /and a midas 9in / a 3in fortosa /2 black convict and 2 whight convicts/ 2 blood parrots AND last a 9in baby polypturs....


but i think bad ass is a midas or a adult fortosa .

my vote would be my texan, he is the most beligerent fish i had eve had. he is ok with tank mates but than bam hes chacing them for fun. he is now alone has tank. i had ti take out my pike because the texas broke his jaw in a fight, he even tried to kill his pleco friend. when he was young i put him with 3 red bellies and thay ended up dead. now im tring to give hima away so i can put a breading sevrum pair in his tank, i cant move him in my 125G cause he will kill all the other fish, he atacks the roots from ivy i have growing on top of his tank. if i put my face against the glass he tries to fight me

ya after doing reserch on the speicies listed above iwould have to aggree my texan would end up back in the alamo if he were up againts the size, but if it were a sanctioned UFC fight(with waight classes) id put my money on the texan, but than id be no better than Vick lol

I think , convict and oscar . But oscar is much larger than convict . So here size does matter . So i will vote oscar .

Just got a new 2in jag today, so we'll see if he can stand up to my 2 3in jd's and 2 6in green severums. I would have to say my most aggressive cichlid is my 5in belly crawler pike.

I have a jag, a wolf and an umbi and if i'm completely honest the jag maybe the smallest, but in my tank nothing would match it

It depends on the fish.
mine was an oscar. The only thing it tolerated was the fish that it grew up with, a red belly pacu. It would murder anything else.

A couple years ago I had a pair of adult JD's and they were absolutley murderous to the point that they got thier own tank,

Here is a list of killed fish
1 green terror
2 oscrs (that were much larger)
1 RD
1 1 frontosa
3 pacu

And countless plecos disapeared without my knowing, I cant even remember all of the fish that fell victim to thier wrath all exept when I got my first Jag they got along with him for some strange reason, maybe cus they kind of look a like LMAO
