I would have to say a Midas, but I am biased. I have seen a Midas beat up a Red Devil here at a local shop. The Midas was 10" and the Red Devil 11-12".
Which is the most aggressive SA/CA cichlid in your experience/opinion?

In my experience Oscars are huge wimps to other fish, a Jack Dempsey would have to be way more aggressive than an average Oscar.
I think Oscars, It was the first fish we had at home....he never gave up until he got rid of every other swimming pal in our tank..
i had a tilapia, red devil, red terror, and a gold flowerhorn and the flowerhorn ended up being the HNIC...he was the only one that would eat live food too but i think either of them has what it takes to be a bad mofo just depends on the tank and co inhabitants.
I've had dempseys,red devils,convicts,texans,managuenses,and buterkoferi,until I got my first dovii.When she was only 4",she took on a red devil over twice her size.I was convinced from that moment till now,Doviis are the most aggressive cichlid.
Dovii's literally can't be up top, sure it's territorial but not aggressive. i've had atleast 5 dovii's in my life, and I found them all being peaceful. I honestly think the buttikoferi and red devil or midas are up top the butti would tear up every single cichlid and pull their scales off.
Actually, my Midevil does great with a common Pleco (who is same size as RD) in a 65g, he bothers him sometimes, but the Pleco is a tough nut.tlt77;4560700; said:

... anyways i was impressed bout a spot faced pike hes lil longer maybe slightly bigger mouth.. that boy hung... they fought 4 days straight.. faces healed and all is well... she is dominate though because he runs when she snaps...lol
by the way the midas and rd were both returned multiple times for being tough guys and killing tank mates...and i pulled all the decor out because i really wanted it to work... very disappointed in the false "hype" people must be putting these fish in with JD's ....
might try again someday... would really like to breed Red Texa$ cichlids....
