I have a male Jaguar and a male RD. The male RD is totally trying to kill the Jag. They locked up once but the male RD is basically going to end up killing him. Which one should I keep? The jag is a little smaller but seems somewhat less aggressive (I just put him in there yesterday). They are seperated at the moment. One has to go.

I want a really aggressive fish. For some reason the RD does not bother the other convicts and such.
55, I will upgrade later though. Another thing is I cannot tell if it is a male or female. It's about 5 inches or so.
Go with a big enough tank and hopefully it will curb your devils aggression. Lfs near me has a full grown devil and a jag together in a show tank with other fish that would have normally been scooby snacks for a devil but everyone seems cool with each other. Seems like they are more interested in what's going on outside the tank than inside.
Well you shoulda expected it to happen in a 55. Any two agressive cichlids are going to have problems with eachother once they hit sexual maturity (about 4") in a 55 esp. if they haven't grown up together. I think in this case go with the devil because they stay alot smaller than jags.

I am upgrading later this year. I am not concerned about size at maturity. Just can't decide which to keep.
