Which one S. manueli to choose? :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also found out that the manny number 1 is much smaller (4'' 9-10 cm) so probably that's why he has less color on his cheeks. The fish will arrive to me in 4 hours :)

Here is my little manny. His fins were burnt by amonnia in the transporting bag :( I've added Seachem StressGuard and a little salt to the water and hope that he will recover quickly. He didn't eat anything untill today, today he ate 2/3 of smelt.

Thank you :) The fins look perfect now :), I will try to make some pics later. Unfortunately I noticed some black spots that resembles black pepper sprinkled on his body. I think it's a "black spot disease" caused by flatworm larvae of the genus Neascus :(

Yes, the second manny has a chin bump because he is constantly hitting the divider trying to get into the first one :( The first manny is more calm and doesn't try to attack his neighbour through the divider.

Will this heal by itself?
The "chin bumps" or "Chimples" as some call them, are common on more aggressive fish. #1 may be the prettiest, #2 has the most "personality". I would go with #2 myself.

I choose the manny number 2 but he died :( (I was writting about it few posts above this one) ...so i have the manny number 1 in my tank.

Here is the comparison between my manny just after purchase (on the left side) and 2,5 months later (on the right) :)

The fish eats nicely and is very agressive, it's the best piranha I've ever had :)
