Which potamotrygon are in highest demand?

And why are p14 $1000 instead of $3000 like what they were, their was Definatley a black ray craze of fad or boom. If you didn't notice the hundreds of new ray keepers that grabbed them than I guess you don't pay attention. Their was only maybe 5 people in my province that were keeping black rays 5 years ago. Now theirs dozens , every pet shop here has or had them . Their Definatley is not the same amount of people t1 ,

I don't even know why I bother!

Yes prices have dropped because all the people who were intrested in them now have them

People will not buy more bd or any other black ray no matter how cheap they are if they already have plenty of stock

Even $1000 is a lot of money for some people to spend on a fish so they are still out of the price range for some

I could sell as many black rays as I can pop out because my prices have all ways been fair

I sell leoxbd for £350-400 p14xleo for £450 and pure p14 for £500-550 which is much cheaper than the prices you quoted and they sell fast

The prices in the past were way to high and out of most peoples price ray even when the prices were high I NEVER took advantage of the situation and stuck with my prices quoted

As for the boom being over if you mean the prices have stabled then yes the high prices are over

As for what will be the next boom NOTHING will ever reach the high prices

Everyone said that years ago when a wild caught Leo was $30, then $90......the $250.....then $500.......
Interesting that at $30 they were hard to give away, but at $1k plus everyone wanted one.

the higher prices have made the grade much better than when they were well £90 was cheap in the uk

no one would have paid $3k for a normal looking leo so the grade had to go up

even now people wouldnt be happy to pay much for a normal looking leo

if you want the next big thing its hybrids as each is a bit different

as for selling what i have for the next big thing it will never happen and i think anyone who sell something they have had for over 5 years just to keep up is foolish

I think high quality marbles are in high demand add I can't even find one for sale while I see black rays all over. I mean, price still truly indicates demand, so black rays win, but availability of supply says something too.

No they aren't.
I used to think high grade ones were in high demand too, but once you start talking the black ray money that quality demands all of a sudden intrest drops to nothing.

How much are you looking to spend? I always have too many, but I also pay better money for them then most people do, and tend to just hang on to them instead of loose my butt on them.

I've never really seem them for sale so I don't really even know what the price range is. I mean I've seen aquascapes blurry ones retail for $300 so I guess id expect to pay 300 to 500 for younger quality ones, 400 to 700 for adults. But admittedly I could be off because I just haven't seen many comparisons.

if you want to talk about a ray thats crashed and burned pearls are it

a good marble costs more than a pearl now

pearls were £1k a few years back they are still banned to export yet you cant give them away at £250-300 now

Agreed - pearls have really plummeted in price. I think the frenzy with black rays here was a result of people wanting to breed and sell them and cash in on the market. The race was on to get the best breeding stock as BD's became more available thinking they will get top $$ for better quality pups. Once the Asian market came into play, prices drastically dropped. Same thing will happen if xingu or boesemani's were to become more readily available. They will be worth big bucks at first until they can be "mass produced".

I guess Pearls never really got that popular over here..... I've always expected to pay more for top shelf Marbles then average Pearls, but never saw any White/Crocodile or 5 star type Pearls for sale over here.

Pete if you doubled your #s that would be average ball park over the years..... At least those were the numbers I had to deal with. :(
