If they are the same species I see they share the same name. Just wondering, because a steelhead dies in a mountain stream and a rainbow trout lives. If they are the exact same thing why is that? They must be quite different at least phenotypically.
I guess the same can be said for Striped Bass. Stock a land-locked one in SW and it would probably go belly-up and vise versa. I think it all depends on where the fish grew up.
