This is the home of my bichirs...
Too bad none of them are visible on the pic :) but in the poly family i have:
1x ornatipinnis 4"
2x palmas palmas 8-10"
3x senegalus 8"
3x ropes 12-14"

wheres the pic!?

mine are in a bare bottom tank with some driftwood to grow out. they will be moved to my tank with some sand, plants and driftwood

My tanks all have black stickers on all sides except the front and the floor.

I have bichirs in a gravel-substrated (with DW and plants, pink light ) tank and a bare-bottom with driftwood tank (under yellow light).
Some set-ups i've tried before...
gravel sustrate
gravel substrate with rocks for hiding places
grael substrate with DW
sand sustrate with DW, heavily planted
sand substrate with plastic plants
bare bottom with plants attached to DW
bare tank
:)

Right now I have a sand substrate with a couple pieces of driftwood and some anubias. I have some more anubias and driftwood on the way hopefully in the next week or so it will be looking better.

This is how I keep mine. Gravel with some hiding spots. They're fairly active.

YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! You have my dream! Monsters on top.. angels on the bottom. I'm positively drooling. Only difference is I want solid black veils. O my. It's beautiful!

Thanks for liking my setup. It's actually the other way around. Angels swim on top and bichirs cruising around from bottom to top and all over the tank. I like black veil angels too but it's not a good match to have black fish on a black ground. I wouldn't be able to see the angels.

Here is another teaser pic of things you want. Platinum Senegal!:D
