white bass

I've never kept them, but I would think that they would need to be kept in schools, in a pretty big tank. They can get pretty big as far as aquarium fish go, I've caught them up to around 18", and I'm sure they could get bigger. I've always want to keep them, or wiper. I'm sure they make interesting setups!

Fisher is right theyre a schooling fish, they would definately need a big setup with lots of live food, we catch them in the spring on spawning runs up the rivers and they can get around 20inches in Mo.

they the biggest i have seen is 18" here in MN aswell...i catch them all summer long...i am tring one right now...i know they school, but i will wait to add more after i see how this one is doing...it is 10-11"...i plan to have a school in my pond that i will be building...i have always wanted to keep them aswell, so when i caught this "little" male i knew it would be perfect to try with him...as males stay smaller and i have a 180gal for now so i figured i would try it...i will hopfully get him on prawn before he is in the big tank...their main forage in this system is emerald shinner...he is doing fine now, though it has only been 24hrs i figured if he couldn't take the switch to the tank after a 45min drive it would have been in the first 24hrs...now i just have to get him to eat...

Light tackle is so much fun! I grew up fishing light tackle (my dads standard setup is a 5'6" light action rod with 4 or 6lbs line, and that's pretty much all I used until I was around 14.) I even landed the fish in my avatar (32", 18lbs) on a light action rod and 6lbs line, while fishing for walleye, bass, and trout. When I was about 12, I got a flyrod for Christmas, and by the time I was 14, I was addicted to flyfishing, and now I rarely spinfish. I still tend to use too light of a rod, and it can make things interesting when you hook a bigger fish than you planned!

Carp are so much fun...they have a bad rap but what other species is available almost everywhere in north America, commonly grows to 10-20lbs plus, and can be targeted with bait, lures, and fly tackle?

I love fishing for Carp....I just dont release (Carp eat the eggs of other fish so I feed them to some Raccoons near where I fish), I think Carp put up the best fight in North America pound for pound.
