Was your aquarium cycled prior to adding Oscar? What size aquarium and what type of filtration?
I have a 40 gallon tank with a 55 gallon filter (due to all of the 40 gallon filters that I have had have stopped working). I have been adding salt.
Just trying to help you are going to have to perform partial water changes everyday until you get your filter cycled with bio media. The aquarium will take weeks to completely cycle. Also a dechlorinator and
Freshwater test kit is crucial to have during the fish cycle and after.
Thank you so much!! I have had this tank for a year now and have gone through so many ups and downs with it, I did purchase a freshwater tester and have been taught about changing the water and stuff. The oscar seems to be getting better, but he is still not functioning fully yet. Thank you for the advice. I will post an update just in case he gets worse.
