White ghostknife sensetivity?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have 2 mixed with 2 normal black knives.
i've had them for a year in a tanganykan tank with loads of cichlids.
they are just black ghost knife with faded colour.
people who have bad experiences with ghost knives should feel better know that it was probably a sick fish you bought.
most lfs keep the younger ones together and at the smaller size they can be very aggressive towards one and other thus you will notice some with tails missings etc.

if you buy a healthy one and give them good quality water, they are one of the most hardiest fish and easy to keep.

have fun

They are not hardy

Ive Never had one last more then 3 years
Just because your experience told you they're sensitive, doesn't mean you need to shove your experience to the rest of the members to think they're all very sensitive. It's subjective. It depends how you accommodated the fish. Some people have more luck for example keeping the true altum angelfish than others despite the fact the altums would prefer soft acidic water conditions as they are mainly wild caught. Just something to consider when you see the notable difference between your experience and the two others.

They seem to just be a different color variant of a BGK. And as Lupin observed, it seems that you want to tell people how sensitive they are just because they died on you. This doesn't mean that they are sensitive. All the information you provided doesn't suggest anything about their sensitivity.

What was your tank size?
What was your filtration like?
What was your water parameters?
Temperature?
Diet?
Stock?
Did you examine them for parasites, infactions, ect?

You need to provide more detail on why you think these guys are sensitive. While there are fish species variants that seem to need more maintainence, like the Electric Blue Jack Dempseys, they aren't that big of a difference in care.
