You get the first litter and choose the name and we will put it into use :)
Then in a year or so we can begin the pup swap.

I am still not convinced that castexi get as large in the aquarium as people say. I am a big fan of castexi and will say they are my favorite rays. I know of a couple big ones but they are few and far between. Castexi are known for large powerful tails more so than huge disk size and they grow pretty fast. I have seen Leos which is a ray everyone wants bigger then any castexi I have seen. I would bet the Leos at the Shedd are 30" diameter. Then you have tigers and flowers that will probably out grow castexi in size as well. The one thing I will say about castexi and DB can back this up is they are very aggressive eaters. I have one that will attack the glass just at the site of you walking in front of the tank. They will jump on other rays and scatter food all over the tank trying to get one piece. You could feed them every couple of hours and they act like they are starved. Now the males I have are a lot more docile. The females seem to be the aggressive ones.
So far with my rays I don't think the castexi will be touched in size by any other ray. It dwarves my flower and tiger rays and thier all around the same age. The base of it's tail is probably 13" around. As far as eating goes it will be an eager eater but it is not as aggresive as some of my rays. My flower is in the same pond and is more aggressive than it, my two leos, and my male motoro. In my other tank my xingu will attack the other rays sometimes when the food is dropped just to make sure it is the only one near it, so I'd have to say that is my most aggresive ray. Oh ya the castexi is a female

I had a castexi female that was pretty calm. Of the most aggressive I have had, I would say my female jag followed by a female flower then another female castexi. I guess it is more the personality of the ray. I always hear a lot more females biting than males. Now when the male is mature and breeding, the tone changes.

WOW. Let me know if and when pups pop!

Its beautiful...I keep coming back to this thread.

Just imagine IF I actually had a camera capable of taking decent pics. My camera is less megapixels then most phones are. I really thought the thing would fade with age..... If anything it looks brighter as the base color has darkened and the dots appear to look brighter on this darker base.

Unfortunately I forsee the same problem with this ray as my "Mantilla". I don't have a male man enough to get the deed done. I don't have any males above a foot. I imagine they get shrugged off in a similar manner as if we were to watch Screech try to tackle Jerome Bettis.
